End-User License Agreement (EULA)

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This agreement is between you and Sam Pham, in Singapore, who runs Pay Up (“we”). It covers your use of the Pay Up app. By creating an account you agree to it, and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Pay Up.

Who can use Pay Up

You need to be at least 13. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You must be allowed to agree to this under the law where you live.

Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Pay Up on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. We can end it as described below. Pay Up's software, name and design stay ours.

What Pay Up does, and doesn't do

  • Pay Up keeps a shared record of expenses and payments that you and your group members enter, and works out who owes whom from that record.
  • Pay Up doesn't move money. It doesn't hold, send or receive payments, and it doesn't check that a recorded payment really happened.
  • Balances are only as accurate as what people record. Check anything important before you rely on it.
  • Pay Up isn't financial, tax or legal advice. Disagreements about money are between the people involved.

Your account

  • Give accurate details, and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with your account.
  • One account per person. Don't sign up as someone else.
  • If you think someone else is using your account, change your password and email us.

Using Pay Up fairly

Don't use Pay Up to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else to;
  • harass, threaten or deceive people, including by recording expenses or payments you know are false;
  • get into accounts, groups or data that aren't yours, or get around the app's security or limits;
  • copy, take apart or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
  • overload the service, or use bots or scripts to access it.

What you put in

What you record stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the members of the groups you record it in, as far as we need to run Pay Up. Everyone in a group can see the group's expenses and payments, including what you recorded.

Cost, ads and paid features

Pay Up is free at the moment. If we add advertising or paid features, such as an ad-free subscription, we'll update this agreement and our privacy policy first. Anything you pay for will show its price and terms before you buy, and payments go through the app store you got Pay Up from.

Ending things

You can stop using Pay Up and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks this agreement, or if the law requires it. When an account is deleted, what it recorded in shared groups stays, under “Deleted User”, so the other members' balances still add up. The privacy policy has the details.

Changes to the app

We keep improving Pay Up, so features can change or be removed, and updates may install automatically. We try to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

No warranty

As far as the law allows, Pay Up is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it's fit for a particular purpose or that its calculations are free of errors.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on balances or records in the app. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and S$50. Nothing in this agreement limits liability that can't be limited by law.

App stores

The rules of the app store you downloaded Pay Up from also apply. If they conflict with this agreement, the app store's rules win for that point.

Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore deal with any dispute.

Changes to this agreement

If we change this agreement, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll also tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using Pay Up after that, you're agreeing to the new version.
